Dr. Radhika, an academician, by choice, presumes in dedicated service towards teaching, research and academic activities. She has a rich experience of 29 years in teaching a wide spectrum of subjects in the areas of Information Technology at BMSCE. She has about 100+ publications to her credit with 16 SCI, 49 Scopus, 29 Web of Science, 18 DBLP and Google Scholar citations greater than 300+. Significant publications worth mentioning are in Springer Book Chapters: Pattern Recognition, Machine Intelligence and Biometrics-Expanding Frontiers, and Innovations in Communications and Computing, Journals: Pattern Recognition (IF: 8.518), Applied Soft Computing (IF: 8.263), Pattern Recognition Letters (IF: 4.757), Journal of Visual Communication and Image Representation (IF: 2.887), Neural Processing Letters (IF: 2.908). Three Australian sanctioned patents have been granted in 2021-22. Two Indian patents has been granted in 2023.
As an inspiring educationalist, she has mentored several students in different facets of their learning. She is presently guiding three research scholars in specialized areas of Biometrics. Three scholars have been awarded Ph.D degree. She has been included in the 30th Pearl Anniversary edition of Marquis Who's Who in the World 2012.
The proficiency of a person is well appreciated by performance. Dr. Radhika has taken up initiative and lead role for various academic activities at BMSCE. She has taken the responsibility as head of the department from December 2016 to January 2019. She has rendered her service as a General Chair for IEEE International Advance Computing Conference held during June 12-13, 2015. As a Senior member of IEEE, she has actively participated in student projects and training programs. She was the key resource person for VTU e-learning content development and training as part of undergraduate curriculum. She is a Wipro Mission 10X Master Trainer and has organized faculty orientation programs at BMSCE. She has contributed for coordination of Data Center and college website development & updation.

Research in academic institutions is integrated with learning, teaching and knowledge transfer. The activities are interlinked to promote high quality education, develop well trained PhD graduates and ascertain novel concepts to address social issues. Research activities seek to expand human knowledge through analysis, innovation and insight. Collaborative projects, patents, research grants and quality publications are the main research outcomes to achieve.
Recent trends in Biometrics has resulted in new requirements for authentication and recognition systems. Major research work centers on novel formulations that capture performance in the phases of feature extraction and classification. The results include algorithms for computationally difficult problems in normalization, pattern analysis, shape transformations, subpattern investigation and pattern reconstruction techniques.
The research scholars constitute a young and enthusiastic team. They work on specialized areas of biometrics, periocular region authentication, multimodality, encryption, bio-hashing, gait characteristics, credentials, cancelable features and cloud security. Their dedication and hardwork facilitate ongoing research activities to achieve greater heights.
Dr. Radhika is passionate about teaching. In her 27 extensive years of teaching experience, she has handled a varied range of subjects in undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum. She is delighted to provide lectures on programming concepts such as Data Structures, File structures, Algorithm analysis and Networks. She has attained indepth knowledge for the courses on Network management and Wireless networks.
I would be happy to meet during my office hours in the department of Information Science and Engineering, BMSCE.
